Squamish Triathlon partners with Run Squamish

This is an exciting time for the Squamish Triathlon: A Memorial to Bob McIntosh. Jen Segger and Sean Verret of Run Squamish will inject new energy into the event as they take over management of the race.

The event will return in 2017 with improvements aimed at making the race safer for competitors and volunteers.

“Run Squamish is looking forward to taking over this event while keeping the legacy of the Squamish Triathlon alive,” said Jen Segger. “We have some fresh ideas to bring forward as we start the planning process for the future of this event. Our goal is to provide a great day of racing for both locals and visitors while showcasing the amazing town that we live in.”

Registration for the 2017 race is expected to open late in 2016 with a standard distance race and a sprint race.

“Since 1998, the Squamish Triathlon has offered a quality event attracting competitors from around the world,” said outgoing race director John French. “We are thankful for the support of all the race sponsors, including Candice Dyer of REMAX Sea to Sky Realty, Nesters Market, Tantalus Bike Shop, Miller Capilano Maintenance Corporation, ISL Engineering, Ellis Moving and Storage and the many other sponsors who have contributed to the event.”
